About Wiltshire Community-Led Housing
Wiltshire Community-Led Housing offers advice and support to groups and organisations who are interested in Community-Led Housing in Wiltshire and Swindon. Our team has a range of skills and experience in delivering Community-Led Housing, community engagement, housing needs, affordable housing, planning, procurement of services and project management.

The service is delivered by Community First and Wiltshire Community Land Trust.
Our approach
Wiltshire Community-Led Housing is an independent, not-for-profit advisory and support service for community groups, parish/town councils and other interested groups in Wiltshire and Swindon. We empower communities to take an active role in providing homes that meet their individual needs, using the Community-Led Housing approach. We can support community groups working in a developer-community partnership and facilitate relationships between Registered Providers of Affordable Housing and community groups where knowledge, experience and information can be shared for the benefit of the community.
Everyone needs a place to call home, but many communities in Wiltshire and Swindon do not have the right sort of homes to meet local demand. Community-Led Housing offers a practical solution to the often complex challenge of providing homes for the future. It also offers defined community benefits that are protected in perpetuity, which means the homes are protected for future generations too.
We believe stronger, happier and more resilient communities can be built through Community-Led Housing.

Yes! Anyone can form a community group and be involved in delivering a Community-Led Housing project. You don’t need to be an expert in planning, architecture, housing development or construction – but these skills could certainly be very useful.
If you have an interest in providing homes in your local area e.g. through a Community Land Trust or cohousing, Community-Led Housing is for you. Some groups and organisations may also be interested in Community-Led Housing because they recognise there is a need for more affordable homes which may not be met by traditional housing developments.
